BIRTH DOULA SUPPORT

As a Birth Doula, I accompany families in labor to help ensure a satisfying birth experience whether at home or in a medical setting.  I provide emotional support and physical comfort. I offer tools for self-advocacy and perspective, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort. I am currently only offering distance support for birth preparation and postpartum healing. If you are interested in exploring how virtual, phone and energetic support may be right for you, reach out and we will connect.

The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek meaning “a woman who serves” and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period. Studies have shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier and they breastfeed more easily. Source: DONA International
